On Saturday, September 25th from 7:00 pm -midnight, downtown Sydney will come alive with the sights and sounds of the tenth annual Lumière Arts Festival. September 30, 2021 marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30.

The Annual Glace Bay Food Bank fall food drive

The Glace Bay Food Bank Society will hold their annual Fall Food Drive on Saturday, Oct. 2nd at 10:00 am Canvassing will be done in Glace Bay, Reserve, Donkin, Port Morien, Birch Grove and Tower Road. Please place bagged nonperishable items marked food bank on your front step. All covid rules will be followed.
