Sydney, Oct. 14-15 A Navigation Maps & Compass course will be offered on October 14-15 in Sydney. Participants receive Outdoor Council of Canada national certification. Learn more at www.hikenovascotia.ca.

The Glace Bay Food bank along with the assistance of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service are holding a food drive this Saturday, October 14th, 2023 between the hours of 10am until 2pm. The food drive will be held at three locations, Super Store, and Sobey’s Reserve Street and Foodland Brookside Street in Glace Bay during the same time. All three stores will be going head to head to see who brings in the most goods for the food bank…

KOC Council 9476 Sydney River/Sydney will be holding a food drive to support Loaves and Fishes and St. Vincent de Paul on Saturday October 14th from 10am to 1 pm in the following church parking lots; St. Mary's East Bay, Our Lady of Fatima, Sydney River, Holy Rosary, Westmount, St. Theresa's, Margarite Bourgeoise and Holy Redeemer Sydney.

The Steelworkers and Sydney Pensioners Club, 30 Inglis Strreet, will host an OPEN HOUSE SOCIAL, October 15, 1-4 pm to showcase events and services available to members and the public. Come see/sample shuffleboard, darts, Tarabish, line dancing, snooker. MR.DUO will play for listening and dancing. Try the culinary delights of cook, Myrna Murphy, and the club bakers. Make new friends! DRAWS for prizes and club memberships.
