Sea Treasures-Eco Heroes-Recalibrating by Lila Donovan Kelly Artist Talk & Catered Opening Sunday, August 6th at 4pm at the North Highlands Community Museum and Cultural Center Cape North.

The New Waterford Library will be hosting a book launch for author James McEachern on Tuesday, August 8th at 6:30pm. The novel, Saints of the Waters Ford, chronicles the magic and mystery of Cape Breton, McEachern's childhood home, overlapping many a true story with fairy tales and fantasy.

Branch 55, Port Morien Legion is hosting the ROCK YOUR DORY Outdoor Concert this Saturday, August 12th from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the legion parking lot. Final Cut, Full Circle, Bandit, and Broken Road will be rocking the night away. Tickets are $20.00 and are available at Dearn's Corner Convenience Store or the legion bar. SCB is hosting the Under 18AA Boys Provincial Championships.  Games on the 19th at 5pm at Open Hearth Sports Field (CBFC playing in this game) and at MacKinnon Field in New Waterford.  The Championship game will be at 12:30pm on the 20th on the Ness Timmons Field at CBU with the Bronze medal match at noon on the 20th at Open Hearth Sports Field.  Schedule is located on the Soccer Nova Scotia website.

August 20th is also our Cape Breton Cup Championship games for our Under 13 and 15 Boys and Girls.  Under 13 Boys kickoff at 2:30pm at the Ness Timmons Field at CBU with the girls kicking off at 3:15pm at the same location.  The U15 Boys game will be at 2:00pm at Open Hearth Sports Field.  The U15 Girls play at 4pm, most likely at Munro Park in North Sydney.  Schedules are under their respective divisions on the Soccer Cape Breton…
